Goodwill Outlet and a Giveaway!

Monday, April 1, 2013

Hello everyone!
I have been wanting to post
all of my new finds,
but I have been distracted by
Justin Bieber's monkey and
checking in to rehab.
How am I supposed to
blog when all I can think about is
Bieber's monkey being stuck in customs?!

With that being said, I'm going to try and concentrate on
my findings from this week. Now, if you live in St. Louis,
you have heard of the Goodwill Outlet downtown. If you're
not familiar, it's a place where everything leftover from regular
Goodwills. The merchandise is in giant blue tubs
and everything is sold for 79 cents a pound.
I have ALWAYS wanted to go, but every time I mention it,
someone scares me and I stay home.
Everyone I have talked to either loves it or
hates it. I posted on Facebook last night that I wanted to go today and
friends told me to watch my cart, wear gloves, wear a mask, don't get cut, etc.
Thankfully, my sweet friend
 Heather and her daughter Macy
met me there!

So, this is what I came home with.

The trophy, pillow, book, and sweater
cost me $3.69. The trophy
is for an activity I'm doing at school, and
the book and pillow will
match my house perfectly.
I bought the sweater for Ross,
(brand new from Target)
but after taking a picture of it,
I think it's a girl sweater.
What do you guys think?

Overall, my experience was good and
I'll probably go back.
All of the furniture was like $2 though.
It's not in the best condition,
but if you're creative it's worth taking a trip there.
People are CRAZY
when the staff pushes out
new bins, but if you stay back you'll
be fine. Next time I go, I'll
be brave and stand on the front lines.

Since I was off today, I went to
the GC Goodwill after the outlet
to see what I could find.

Here's what I got today!
Brand new Target baby clothes.
I have a couple of friends' in mind
that would love these.

Brand new Target dress and skirts.
Perfect for the warmer weather that's
hopefully coming.

A polo and V-neck for Ross.
I had the Cardinals in mind when I picked these up.

Brand new duvet set with shams.
I splurged and paid $18
for this, but duvet sets on the Target website
are around $70.

And now for the giveaway!
I've seen other blogs do this and I'm
not sure what I'm doing, but
whatever.

Summer Fever

Sunday, March 3, 2013

Hello blogging friends! Well unlike Ari I have always been a winter girl. I love the cold and snow, and most of all wearing layers. But this winter, I haven't really been loving the cold. In fact, I am really looking forward to summer for the first time in a long time. I think it has A LOT to do with the fact that I will have the summer off, which I haven't had since I was 16. Sooooo, when I walked into Goodwill to look for some workout clothes, I may have gotten distracted. All of the dresses below are
Mossimo dresses from Target: A. $4.99 B. $3.99 C. $4.99 D. $3.99

LOFT Jeans $3.00
Whoops. Yup, I think I am ready for summer now. I also LOVE my green jeans. I have been wanting to buy a pair from Old Navy but couldn't bring myself to spend $30.00 when they will probably only good for one season. But I couldn't resist $3.00 for a trend.

Now I did actually get what I was looking for. I have always been active and been an avid walker, but lately that hasn't been cutting it. I put on 13 pounds and went up a pant size. Growing up is pretty stupid sometimes. So, I joined the gym and quickly realized that my paint stained sweatpants and tshirts were pretty sad. I went to Target yesterday and to look at their activewear but thought they were a bit expensive.

So I scored these items that were in Target yesterday, full price.

Champion Duo Dry Max Capris-$ 3.99
Champion Duo Dry Max Sleeveless- $2.00

I also picked up a couple of running shorts.
New Balance and Athletic Works $1.00/$2.00

I have never believed in "getting ready" to go to the gym (putting on makeup, brushing my hair). But good golly I looked at myself in the mirror during a workout and was slightly embarrassed at how awful I looked. We are talking sweatpants that are a size too big and tshirts that have pit stains. No one wants to see that. So, hopefully now I will look like I haven't completely given up on myself.

Goodwill also had a TON of tanks and camis from Target, as well as jeweled flats (which I bought but was tired of taking pictures :). I hope you all have as much luck as I did.

Happy Hunting!

I Forgot My Zumba Shoes........

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

.........so I'll update the blog. I got all the way to the Y and was so worried abut remembering socks, that I forgot shoes. Bummer. So I ran into the Goodwill on my way home. Yay! I'm writing this from my phone for the first time, so let me know if it looks weird. This will be a fast post because we are leaving for Haiti late tomorrow night/early Friday morning, so keep us in your prayers! Anyway, here is what I spotted at the GC Goodwill tonight!

The top left picture is a brand new accent chair that was $49.99. It was in the window and it probably won't be there long. The top right picture is a brand new tunic from Target. $3.99. Target must have overstock in Valentine's Day merchandise because they had TONS of bags. Pick up a few in the area! Valentine's Day will be here before you know it!

Please don't take all of the good stuff while I'm gone, but hopefully you'll get out and find some good things this weekend!

Clothing Overload

Saturday, January 12, 2013

Could it be? Yes!
I am updating the blog after a much deserved two months off.
I have to say that I like sharing my finds, but I really
don't like taking pictures and uploading them. I don't think
anyone really likes doing that. I was planning on
going out tonight, but the weather has kept me in.
I hate staying in at home. But it's good for our 15 readers out there,
because you get to look at all of my new finds!
*Sorry for the poor picture quality*

Brand new from Target. $2.99

Brand new from Target. $2.99! I think this is a
child sweater but I don't care. I will wear whatever I want
and I don't care how old I am.

I wore this last night and got so many compliments! $3.99.

Kirna Zabete top. $3.99. I saw this at
the Edwardsville Goodwill and it was $2 more there.
I went there last week and noticed that EVERYTHING there
was priced higher than the GC store. I probably
won't be going back anytime soon.

 Kirna Zabete top. $2.99.

OMG. I saw this top at Target a WEEK before I bought it from Goodwill
and it was $24.99. I got it for $2.99!

It still had the tags when I purchased it!

 Old Navy top. $2.99.

This skirt was adorable when I tried it on.
I got it today and I saw several of them.
Check it out if you're in the GC area!
$3.99

 Close up of the print.

Kirna Zabete skirt. This picture kind of sucks,
but it's a really pretty blue. Click on the link if you want
to see a better picture of it. $3.99.

 Kirna Zabete skirt. $2.99.

OMG this dress is cute, cute, cute! It has pockets and
is a really pretty plum color. It was a splurge at $6.99.

It 's still $17.48 online and was originally $49.99!

The GC Goodwill had TONS of these tubs in a bunch of
different colors. I got four of them for $1 each.

And there ya have it folks.
This will probably be my last post for
another two months. Just kidding. But I will
be busy for the next couple weeks because I am going to Haiti on Friday!
I can't wait to go and to tell everyone about it. I am also
thrilled that hockey is back.
Let's. Go. Blues.

Chevron Chairs

Saturday, November 17, 2012

Hello everyone! I know it's been awhile, but we are back! I've been finding tons of stuff but there is one thing that I have to share with you all immediately! If you follow me on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, sorry I'm not sorry that you've already seen this.

OMG! Lance freaking Bass! He was totally my fave *NSYNCer and I couldn't pass this doll up. If only I had Chris, Justin, JC, and Joey too.

Now for the real finds!

Can you believe these chairs?! I can't either. I don't have room for them at my house but I HAD to get them. My aunt is going to use them until I steal them back :)
They were $35 each and were in perfect condition. No rips, tears, or anything.

Look how much they still are on the website!
$179.99!!!

Here are some other things I have come across recently.

Tons of bedding! All of it is brand new from Target. I seriously don't even go there anymore.

This chevron comforter is reserved for my friend, Whitney. It's still $49.99 on the website.

And here are some pics from meeting the cast of "So You Think You Can Dance", just because I want to share them.

People tell me all the time but they never find anything when they go thrifting.
My biggest piece of advice is to GO OFTEN. If you only go once every couple months, you probably won't find anything. I usually go every Saturday or Sunday, and sometimes both. There have been many times when I don't find anything, and then days like today when I find amazing stuff!

If you like this blog, share our link on your facebook or twitter.
Thanks for reading and happy hunting.

Thrifting Overload

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Oh my gosh. Can you believe I'm writing a new post? Me either. I can't believe summer is almost over. I hate it. School has started for me and I'm so not ready.
I've thought about blogging every night for the last couple weeks.
But I've been....hmmm what's the word.....? Lazy!
Sorry I'm not sorry that I have to sleep for 2 hours after school then eat Jimmy John's then watch "So You Think You Can Dance". Clearly there has been no room for blogging. However, there has been time for thrifting! Let's get to the goods, shall we?

How cute is this owl umbrella?
It was only $2.99 and is still on the Target website for $16.99. Winning!

I strayed from the GC Goodwill this weekend.
I got this dress at the one in Fairview and it is $44.99 on the Target website. Yours truly got it for a steal for $4.

I don't know what the deal is, but all this brand new wrapping paper was 50 cents, with the exception of the brown one. That one was more than double in length so it was $1.99.

Perfect for me! $4.99. It comes with a belt but I was too lazy to get it.

I took this from the website. Still $24.99!

I'll wear this with tons of stuff.
I was $3, but half off the day I got it, so it was only $1.50!

I just checked the Target website and look! $22.99 to $1.50.

Fun skirt! Only $3!

Perfect pillows. $2.99 each.

I know this dress looks wrinkled, but it is SO cute on. I'm wearing it to Dillon and Vanessa's wedding in a couple weeks. This was $7, but half of when I bought it so it was only $3.50. Boo-ya.

Thanks to our 15 followers out there!
