I Meant to Post this Yesterday........

Tuesday, July 31, 2012

but the Olympics were on.
And we all know that I accomplish nothing when the Olympics are on.
This will be a short little post but I wanted to share some things
I spotted at the GC Goodwill yesterday.

There were a TON of these little rust colored dresses. I saw sizes 2-14.
They were all spread throughout the dress racks, so if you don't see them right away, you might have to dig a little. I think they had pockets too. But don't quote me on that. You can see the purple dresses on the rack behind the rust dress, and there were a ton of those as well.
All brand new and cost $4.99.

We all know that back to school sucks, but I guess it will be here soon. Boo. There's nothing I hate more than the end of summer. But to cheer you up a little, Goodwill had a TON of spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, and looseleaf paper.  (There was more than what's in the picture) I didn't look through all of the paper, but everything I saw was college ruled. And everything was 19 cents. Brilliant! I watched a LOT of Harry Potter this weekend, and I definitely do not say "brilliant" enough. I need to work on that.

You can even share us if you think we're stupid.
We're not that picky.

Liquid Luck

Monday, July 23, 2012

Hello friends! I know I just posted a few days ago but I couldn't wait to share what I just found. This may be one of the best finds since the beginning of time.

Can you believe this trench? I know it's summer and I won't be wearing it for awhile, but I couldn't pass it up. I can't remember if I showed this to Ashlie yet. She's gonna lose her mind.

I looked this up on the Target website and it's still on sale for $49.99!

This is what I paid for it! Score! $6.99 is a bit of a splurge for Goodwill, but it's my favorite color AND it's waterproof. I know I will wear it all the time. I have no idea why this is still full price on the website, which leads me to my next tip. Always look for stains, rips, or missing buttons if a deal looks too good to be true. I found a little dirt smudge on the belt, but it's nothing a Tide stick can't handle.

I also found this cute floral clutch the same day. $2.99!

Adorbs.

According to this outfit, it looks like I'm ready for spring, which I am totally not! I live for the summer and I am sad that August it right around the corner. Boo. Going back to school is the worst.
Please share this on facebook, twitter, pinterest, or your blog if you like us. Thanks for reading!

May the odds be ever in your favor.

*The Hunger Games is out on DVD August 18! I can't wait! My bootleg copy from NYC is cutting it anymore.

Hello to our 14 followers out there! I hope you're enjoying the summer. I for one LOVE the heat! Swimming and sundresses are my fave, so I'm not ready for the weather to cool down anytime soon. I've been thrifting like crazy the last couple weeks and I would love to show you what I have found. The first few pictures are things I found TODAY!

I got this to wear this fall over all of my sundresses that I'm not ready to put away. I got this TODAY and there were TONS of them at the GC Goodwill. $2.99

I got this TODAY as well. I've been into shorts this summer and I thought it would be cute to wear this with another bright color! #yolo $2.99

I got this dress for work. It's not my typical forever 21 style, but I guess that's ok since I'm 27. There were tons of these TODAY as well, and there was another style in purple. Plus there are pockets. BONUS! $4.99

I got this rug a couple weeks ago. I love the bright colors and it goes with my kitchen perfectly!

Cute, right? $3.00

I found this adorable umbrella shoved in the back corner of the store. So fetch.

 I love the stripes. $2.00

I normally don't wear maxi dresses, but I loved this when I put it on! America's Next Top Model!
$4.99

All of these items were purchased at the Goodwill in lovely Granite City. People have told me they enjoy this blog, so PLEASE share it on facebook, twitter, or pinterest. I like doing this because I want everyone to find great deals too! I'd love to hear about your thrifting finds, so please share anything you find with us. Thanks for reading.

Housewarming Wreath

Sunday, July 8, 2012

Hello out there! I just got back from sweating like crazy at a Radio Disney event and I'm doing everything I can to avoid homework. So here I am writing this crafty post. Ashlie just bought a house and had a little party today, so of course I had to make her something. It was easy and cheap and different from those yarn wreaths that everyone is making.

I saw this wreath on Pinterest. I really wanted to have it for the Fourth of July and I plan on keeping it up throughout the summer because of the Olympics. I. Live. For. The. Olympics. How can anyone not like sports?

Start with any wreath form. I found two of these for $1 each at Goodwill.

Find some old t-shirts. I found these at the Salvation Army. Less than $3 total.

Lay a shirt flat on your workspace.

Cut the hem off the bottom and the sleeves off the top.

Cut the shirt into strips.

Stretch the pieces and wrap them around the form. I used hot glue to secure it.

Keep wrapping until you get the pattern you want. Duhs.

Get lazy and don't take pictures of the other steps. You guys get the idea. I cut stars out of felt and hot glued them on. I looped a ribbon on the back with hot glue so it could hang on my door.

Finally, be patriotic and hang it on the door. I think this is so cute for the summer, but you could do this with any color of fabric.

I gave this to Ashlie today and like 3 people wanted me to make them one. So I guess it was a hit! If you think other people  would like this, please share on Facebook, Twitter, or on your blog! And if you decide to make one of these, I would love to see a picture! Leave us a comment if you thought this was cute or stupid. Thanks! And the Cardinals just came from behind and won it in the 9th! YEEEESSSS!!!

New York was magical and I can't wait to go back. It was expensive and I spent a lot of money. Sorry this post had nothing to do with getting any deals. Please shoot us a comment if you're reading this. I guess it's cool writing this stuff down, but if I know people are reading it, I will probably write posts more often.
